3 PEAKS CHALLENGE
"Every Community has stories worth saving. Help us give more young people the chance to preserve them."
At Twenty4Seven Education, we are proud to partner with Legasee Educational Trust, a charity committed to preserving and sharing the personal stories of British military veterans. Through this partnership, we help schools access Legasee’s free digital archive, filled with first-hand accounts of military service, key historical events, and personal experiences that bring history to life in the classroom.
This year, T4S staff are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Legasee Educational Trust’s latest campaign, Local Heroes, a new educational programme that trains young people to identify, film and preserve stories within their own communities.
Local Heroes combines oral history, video production, and community engagement, giving young people the confidence and practical skills to conduct and record meaningful interviews.
To help fundraise and support this work, our team will be climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, all within 24 hours, including travel between each mountain.
Helps us create and develop learning resources for young people
Supports digital storage and archive costs for future interviews.
Helps provide recording resources and interview materials.
Supports adapting Local Heroes for cadets, community groups and alternative settings.
**Legasee will provide:
- Unrestricted access to the Local Heroes platform
- Downloadable teaching and interview resources
- A free Detail recording license – worth £60
- One year of digital archive storage – worth £120
