Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a very welcoming school in Cradley Heath. This school are seeking a strong and experienced teaching assistant to work as a 1:1 with two pupils in year 3. For this role you will be expected to work in and out of the classroom assisting the two pupils with their class work. You will be working alongside the SENCO and delivering feedback and progress to the parents. These students both have Autism and which is why experience is essential.

This position is full time and will be starting on the 7th September.

Typical duties of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
Desirable skills –

A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher
These schools are all looking for people to start immediately. All roles are temporary for now but do have the potential to be permanent for the right person.
