Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands

Full time, 5 days per week

September start

 

Twenty 4 Seven Education are excited to offer a new learning support role in an Oftsed rated ‘good’ primary school. This role will require you to work on a 1-1 basis with a young girl in year 1. The young girl you will be working with and supporting has been diagnosed with ASD.

 

The School

This school have a great reputation and strive to give every child the same opportunities. The school we are working with is a mainstream school who need someone to help with this young girl to ensure she is still able to get the most out of school.

 

The Role

The school is looking for a hardworking, confident and caring individual to work one-to-one with a female student in reception who has ASD, supporting him in and out of the classroom and as directed by the classroom teacher and SENCO.

 

The main responsibilities will include

·        Working 1:1 with one specific pupil

·        Supporting the class teacher

·        Helping SEND pupil to make progress in and out of the classroom

·        Liaising with school’s SENCO

·        Working in line with the school’s ethos and SEND policies

 

The candidate:

A teaching assistant qualification is desirable, preferably with specific SEND knowledge
Must have a desire to make a positive contribution in class
Must have a desire to make a difference to the progress- academic, social and/or personal- of pupils with SEN
Need a successful track record of working with pupils
Classroom-based experience is useful
