Job Description

Twenty4seven Education are seeking strong teaching assistant to work on a 1-1 basis. This welcoming school we are working with need a confident candidate to start as soon as possible. This position is to work full time from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.

Applicants must have experience working with children with autism. The child that you will be working with has autism and will need help in and out of the classroom.

This school is in Dudley and will be starting immediately. Candidates must have a DBS on the update service.

Typical duties of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
Desirable skills –

A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher
