Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Full time, 5 days per week

Twenty 4 Seven Education are pleased to offer this exciting new opportunity at an improving school in the West Midlands. The school are seeking a confident individual to take on a learning support role. The role is working on a one-to-one basis alongside a young boy in reception with ASD. This is a full time role, working five days per week during term time.

 

The School

The school we are working with are have a very good reputation and seek to give every child a great education. This position is in a mainstream school which has adapted and gained resources to enable them to educate children with additional needs.

 

The Role

The school is looking for a hardworking, caring and dedicated individual to work one-to-one with a male student in reception who has ASD, supporting him in and out of the classroom and as directed by the classroom teacher and SENCO.

 

The main responsibilities will include

Working 1:1 with one specific pupil
Supporting the class teacher
Helping SEND pupil to make progress in and out of the classroom
Liaising with school’s SENCO
Working in line with the school’s ethos and SEND policies

 

The candidate:

A teaching assistant qualification is desirable, preferably with specific SEND knowledge
Must have a desire to make a positive contribution in class
Must have a desire to make a difference to the progress- academic, social and/or personal- of pupils with SEN
Need a successful track record of working with pupils
Classroom-based experience is useful
