1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Rowley Regis – ASAP

Twenty4seven are looking for level 2 or 3 qualified Teaching Assistants to cover day to day bookings. A number of Primary schools we are working with in Rowley Regis are seeking strong and reliable teaching assistants to cover on a day-to-day basis. Candidates must be experienced working across all primary year groups.

Ideally, 1-1 experience with SEN children would be beneficial as some of the positions we have available with require you to work on a 1-1 basis with a child with additional needs.

Typical duties of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
Desirable skills –

A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher
