Twenty4seven Education are looking to recruit reliable teaching assistants for general and 1-1 positions. If you are looking for part- or full-time work, we may have something for you. There are a variety of different primary schools in Dudley who we work with.

We are also looking for candidates who are experienced working with SEND children. For these roles, the ideal candidate will need to be strong and willing to put in the time and effort with the child they are working with.

When working as a 1-1 it is important for the child to have structure and routine. A successful candidate will need to be confident leading sessions in and out of classroom with guidance from the SENco and class teacher.

Typical duties of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
Desirable skills –

A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher.
