1:1 Teaching Assistant

Are you looking for a rewarding role in a fantastic school that can help accelerate your career? We are seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant for a full time 1:1 role based in East Cardiff to start January!

You will be working Monday – Friday in a Year 1 class on a 1 to 1 basis with a pupil who has complex physical needs. You will be required to help the pupil to interact with other children and engage in group activities, as well as assist with general classroom duties when required. Individuals applying for this role do not require specific qualifications. However, personal experience of working with complex needs pupils is valued. The ideal candidate will have a positive can-do attitude with a genuine desire to help pupils achieve.

Desirable skills or experience –

Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education Early Years
Sensitivity and understanding
Excellent verbal communication skills
Maths & English at Pass Level or GCSE “C” or above or equivalent
To be able to liaise with a variety of staff including, class teacher, SENCO & HLTA
