Examinations Officer – Tonbridge, Kent – ASAP

Salary – paid to scale 

A Secondary School in Tonbridge, Kent are seeking a full time Examinations Officer to start ASAP for an ongoing role.

The Examinations Officer’s key purpose is to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of internal and external examinations at the school. The Examinations Officer will be committed to delivering the school’s vision and have high ambitions for the school’s future. He/she ensures that the systems he/she introduces are understood and embedded in the every-day work of the School. He/she is an outstanding professional who models very high standards. He/she actively seeks out best practice and inspires others also to continue to improve and to keep abreast of developments in their key area, to think creatively and constructively to ensure that the job is done in the most effective and time efficient way.

Your new role:
The role is ideally suited to applicants who feel a sense of responsibility for today’s young people and are highly organised, vigilant and reliable, have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Duties would include preparation of exam rooms, distribution of scripts and supervision of students during examinations. We particularly need staff who are willing to act as a reader or scribe for students who have additional examination access arrangements.

Ideally we are looking for trained exam invigilators/officers however, an approachable personality, the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team would be welcomed. This work may appeal to professional people who have retired and those who have experience of working with secondary age children, although the role is not exclusive to these groups.
