Learning Support Assistant – Ashford – ASAP

** Pay rate: £85-£100

Twenty4Seven Education is seeking a nurturing, resilient and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a modern well-resourced ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted-rated Independent Special School. This exciting new role is to start ASAP on a full-time long term basis. Children and young people with a wide range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), varied learning difficulties and associated conditions, are all able to enjoy extraordinary outcomes at this wonderful School.

As a LSA, you will support teachers to take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, maximising pupil’s achievement, and ability to develop.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 and/or small group support to reinforce learning expectations
* Offer personalised assistance to students with SEMH
* Help implement and monitor any Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)
* Help provide a safe, stimulating and structured environment
* Support students in managing their behaviour and regulating their emotions following the school behaviour policy
* Maintain clear and professional communication with other colleagues, professionals and parents/carers regarding student progress, well-being and any arising issues
* Assist in preparing teaching materials and classroom resources
* Keep accurate records of student activities, progress and behaviour

Qualifications & Experience:

* Minimum Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
Experience working with children with SEND within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 3 months of experience)
* Child and Adult DBS check on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)
* You can demonstrate a patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children
* You have excellent communication and teamwork skills
* You are committed to creating a supportive learning environment
