Job Description

Learning Support Assistant 

**Location: Cardiff

**ASAP Start 

**Full time 

**3 Months of relevant experience required 

Twenty4Seven Education is delighted to be working alongside this lovely primary school located in a residential area of Cardiff. They are looking for a learning support assistant to work within their year 3 class working alongside children with additional learning needs supporting them throughout their daily school life and helping them to access the curriculum.

The School 

The school is run by a dedicated team of staff who strive to provide an outstanding learning environment where children feel safe, nurtured and cared for. They work to create a school environment where children enjoy their learning and have access to a wide range of extracurricular which encourages them to expand their knowledge and creativity. They are looking for a Learning support assistant to work with a group of students with additional learning needs assisting them with accessing the curriculum.

The Role 

The successful candidate will begin working as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year with the possibility of this being extended. They will be working Monday to Friday during term times from 8:30-15:30. The successful candidate will be working with a group of pupils in the year 3 class with additional learning needs. Supporting them through their daily school life and assisting them in accessing the curriculum.

The key responsibilities will include:

Assisting the pupils with accessing the curriculum
Assisting the pupils with developing academically, socially, and personally
Support the classroom teacher in learning activities and classroom management
Assist in preparing and completing learning activities
Support the pupils and discuss with both the students and teacher ways to further support the pupils.

 

The successful candidate:

Will be kind, dedicated, and passionate
Will have a minimum of 3 months of experience working within an educational setting
Will have experience working with children with SEN
Will have a good command of the English language
Teaching Assistant qualifications are also desirable but not required.
