Twenty 4 Seven Education have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, creative, dedicated and qualified Physical Education Teacher to work within a SEN School in Canterbury, Kent. This full time role is to start September on permanent contract.
This ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Foundation Special School is designated for 83 pupils whom have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) as identified by their Education Health and Care Plans (EHC Plans). The school caters for key stages 2, 3 and 4 with class sizes between 8 and 12 pupils. Staff work very hard to tailor individual programmes designed to help each pupil develop the skills and behaviours necessary to cope with life in school and beyond school in society, college and the workplace.
Your new role:
You will need to plan and deliver engaging PE lessons and you will need to provide pastoral support to develop individualised plans for pupils, as well as liaise with colleagues re: baseline assessments and schemes of work. You will need to contribute to the development of curriculum innovations, behaviour management strategies, accreditation, policies and procedures within the school, as well as delivering the subject area.
The ideal candidate:
* Hold a UK recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QLTS)
* This role is also suitable for ECTs looking for a supportive School to complete their induction year
* Have good Physical Education subject knowledge and experience of teaching across the key stages
* Be able to plan and deliver thought provoking lessons
* Monitor and assess pupils effectively to ensure pupil progress
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong classroom and behaviour management
