PE Teacher 

Location: Slough 

Part-time Position

Twenty 4 Seven Education are seeking a confident well qualified Physical Education Teacher to join a dedicated and enthusiastic PE department on a part-time basis.

About the School – Teaching and Learning Assistant – Slough

Our school is a co-educational 11-18 selective school with academy status, located within easy reach of a train station and the M4. The school was inspected by Ofsted in November 2021, and was graded outstanding in all categories. They have approximately 1240 students, over 330 of whom are in the Sixth Form.  The school is heavily over-subscribed and draws students from a wide geographical area and range of backgrounds. Alongside promoting excellent academic outcomes, their school ethos supports students to become confident and well rounded, independent and creative, responsible and caring.

The school is also a National Teaching School with a record of nationally recognised innovative practice, and an Apple Distinguished School in recognition of our leading-edge use of technology for learning. In recent years major building programmes have included the construction of excellent sports facilities, a distinctive Sixth Form Centre and new classrooms, workshops, laboratories, ICT suites and staff accommodation.

About the Role – PE Teacher – Slough

The successful candidate would be expected to specialise in PE teaching across Years 7-11. This post is offered as a part-time role (approximately 0.6 FTE) but with scope for negotiation over the number of hours and working pattern. The ability to teach one or more additional subjects would be advantageous. We welcome applications from teachers at any stage of their career, including ECTs, who feel that they could contribute to the success of the school.

The post has been created in order to meet a growing demand for PE teaching due to the expansion of the school and the increased popularity of the subject at GCSE and A Level. This is a fixed term post of in the first instance, until 31st August 2023, with the opportunity to extend the contract by mutual agreement thereafter.

The ideal candidate:

·       Good honours degree in a relevant subject area

·       Qualified Teacher Status

·       Evidence of good / outstanding classroom practice

·       Strong subject knowledge to support teaching to A-level standard

·       Familiar with current developments in subject area

·       Evidence of recent and relevant professional development

·       Strong organisation and time management skills

·       Commitment to the selective ethos of the school

·       Strong ICT skills to enhance your own teaching and students’ learning

·       Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure

·       Evidence of good relationships with children and young people

·       Enhances DBS registered to the update service
