SEN Teacher – Kent – ASAP

A residential special school for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities who are on the autistic spectrum continuum, is seeking a full time passionate, caring and qualified Teacher to join their school on a temp to perm basis starting ASAP, to teach a range of subjects.

This nurturing school continues to be rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, as a result of excellent inclusive teaching through their extensive enhanced curriculum which includes Attention Autism. Staff have high expectations of the children and they ensure pupil progress through high quality assessment and monitoring. They have a wide range of specialist facilities including a swimming pool, storytelling zone, sensory garden and interactive soft play area. They provide a wide range of specialist support including Rebound Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

The ideal candidate:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

– Eligible to work in the UK

– Positive and energetic manner

– SEN experience including children with ASD

– Residential care experience is ideal but not compulsory

– Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons using a range of learning resources and equipment

– Strong capability to assess and monitor pupil progress and can communicate this effectively with parents and carers
