Twenty 4 Seven Education are pleased to offer the exciting role of Maths Teacher in a successful secondary school in Harborne.

 

The School

We are working alongside this thriving 11-16 secondary school. The school, rated ‘good’ in its last OFSTED inspection, is situated in a wonderfully diverse community which celebrates cultural diversity and strives to break down barriers that may face the more disadvantaged members of the cohort. The school takes pride in ensuring that all students reach their full potential.

 

The Role

ECTs (NQTs) in particular are encouraged to apply for this full time role of Maths Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for the learning of students, their well-being and their achievement.

Responsibilities will include:

To be a consistently good teacher who meets the relevant professional standards and takes responsibility for own professional development
Plan and teach lessons which utilise a range of appropriate teaching strategies, which reflects the diversity of backgrounds of students and promotes mutual respect and which cater for the full range of learning styles within a class
To act as a role-model for students and represent the school in a manner consistent with its ethos and values
To ensure that all work with students underpins and promotes the school’s ethos and values
To use data to set high expectations and individual targets for students in every group
Work with the SENCO and other staff to ensure that individual education plans are used
Highlight positive performance and recognise and reward it appropriately.
Utilise appropriate behaviour management strategies and adhere to the whole school Behaviour for Learning policy and procedures
Ensure the progress of every student within each lesson, across sequences of lessons and throughout modules/schemes of work
The successful candidate will:

Have a good degree, preferably in the subject area
Have QTS
Have a good command of the English language
Have relevant and up to date professional knowledge
Have experience of teaching in Key Stages 3 and 4
Work with honesty and integrity, have a passion to serve the community and commitment to making a difference
