School Caretaker – Kings Heath – September

Pay rate: £50-£60 daily
Hours: 25 hours per week – 5 hours per day

A Primary Special Needs School in Kings Heath, Birmingham are seeking a Caretaker for an ongoing role starting September.

The School:
This ‘Outstanding’ SEN School caters for 150 children with a range of special educational needs including cognition and learning difficulties,  speech and language and autistic spectrum conditions. The curriculum is broad, balanced, exciting and challenging to enrich the lives of pupils.  The curriculum is enhanced by using the fantastic school grounds which includes a forest school and the local community to develop independence skills.  All classes are equipped with iPads and other hardware that supports pupils experiences and ensures they are familiar with the latest technology.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
** You will open and lock the School premises,
** You will ensure all tools, equipment and materials are stored safely and securely at all times
** You will set and test the security and fire alarm systems
** You will check overall security of the site, including buildings and boundaries
** You will respond to a call out as a result of the alarm system being activated
** You will contribute to the operation of the heating plant and light systems
** You will contribute to safety processes and cleansing operations, including regular checks of equipment
** You will read meters as necessary and maintain approved records
** You will undertake general maintenance and repairs
** You will be aware of the provisions of any health and safety regulation enforce and brining matters of concern to the attention of the line manager
** You will contribute to the daily maintenance of hard-core surfaces and other areas, to include keeping paths, access points and entrances clear and accessible in all weathers to ensure safe passage
** You will undertake cleaning duties as required and ensure adequate cleaning supplies are in stock
** You will undertake general gardening duties around the site
** You will collect and assemble waste for collection
