Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant – Kidderminster – ASAP

Pay rate: £60-80 per day

A Through School in Kidderminster is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a full time role starting ASAP until December in the first instance however, this has the potential to be extended into the new year.  You will be expected to support a small group of Yr.7/8 pupils who have been identified with special educational needs and have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Main duties:
* You will supervise and support pupils during lessons following the direction of the class teacher and carry out intervention tasks
* You will provide detailed and regular feedback to the pupils concerning their learning, achievement and behaviour under the guidance of the class teacher
* You will communicate effectively with the class teacher with regards to the pupils engagement, progress, behaviour and any issues that arise in class or around school
* You will need to complete relevant administration tasks

The ideal candidate:
** Minimum of 3 months experience of working with children, in particular those working at below age expected level, special educational needs and/or learning difficulties
** Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree around childcare is admirable but not essential
** Experience of assisting with the development and implementation of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
** Confident to work with Secondary age pupils, demonstrating high expectations of pupil’s achievement and behaviour
** Good communication and organisation skills
** Have the ability to effectively manage behaviour using positive strategies
** Right to work in the UK
** Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. Candidates without an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service will have to pay and apply for a new one
