SEN Teacher – Worcester– ASAP

* Location: Worcester
* Start date: ASAP until December in the first instance
* Contract: Full time
* Hours: 8:30am- 3pm
* Pay rate: £110-150 per day

A specialist child-centred alternative provision in Worcester is seeking a full time inspirational, creative, committed and qualified Teacher. This exciting new role is to start ASAP until December in the first instance.

The School:
This forward thinking school provides a specialist education for 68 students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings. Many of the students have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), specifically Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). They aim to provide a bespoke curriculum to meet the needs of students who struggle to access mainstream education and provide the best opportunities to achieve academic qualifications though overcoming the variety of barriers that its students experience.

We are looking for Teachers who:
* Have a passion for education and the ability to teach across the key stages in an exciting and engaging way
* Can plan and deliver high-quality, inspirational, creative and thought provoking lessons to pupils including those identified with having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
* Have excellent up to date knowledge of the Early Years Curriculum and/or National Curriculum
* Can monitor and assess pupils effectively maintaining high expectations, to enable every child to fulfil their potential – to use the Engagement Model (for those working below the level of the National Curriculum) where applicable
* Have a good understanding of a DfE validated Systematic Synthetic Phonics (SSP) Programme
* Have a good understanding of child development and learning processes
* Have excellent communication (verbal and written) and organisation skills
* Can demonstrate highly effective positive classroom and behaviour management using positive behaviour strategies in line with the School policy
* Have the ability to form positive professional relationships with children and staff
* Are able to use their initiative to work independently and who can contribute to and work as part of a team in their Department
* Are reliable and flexible to suit the expectations of the School

Teacher requirements:
* QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent is essential for this role
* Minimum of 12 months teaching experience is essential for this role
* Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
* Two teaching references covering the last 2 years
* Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to obtain a new certificate
* Safeguarding training within the last 12 months (if you haven’t we provide a free course once you’ve undergone our relevant compliance checks)
