SEN Teaching Assistant – Kidderminster – ASAP

A ‘Good’ Ofsted rated School in Kidderminster are seeking to appoint a full time passionate, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant, to support pupils identified with special needs (SEN) in Key Stage 3. This exciting new role is to start ASAP until July, in the first instance.

The School:
This is a through school, where students can undertake their 14 year journey under one roof, though whether joining them in Reception or any other year group, students can be assured of a warm welcome into the school. Offering a broad curriculum, at this school they value the world of academia but equally value the creative arts and PE.  The year groups are small (classes of 25) putting a strong emphasis on pastoral care and on every pupil being known and individually looked after and cared for.

The Role:
The School is looking to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to join their passionate and enthusiastic team, to support SEN pupils in years seven, eight and nine.

The successful candidate will have the ability to assist and work under the direction of the class teacher. They will be able to support and aid the learning of pupils through clarifying and explaining instructions, ensuring the use of equipment and materials and to provide continuous encouragement and motivation.

This role may include the opportunity to work as a general Teaching Assistant within the classroom setting or to provide group or one-to-one support with identified pupils.

The ideal candidate:
** Teaching assistant Level 2 or 3 qualification is advantageous but not essential
** Has experience as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream Primary School or SEN setting is a must for this role
** Has experience supporting pupils with SEN
** Be passionate and dynamic about children’s learning
** Be enthusiastic about helping young people to succeed
** Have the ability to form strong professional relationships with young people and staff
** Have high expectations for the behaviour and academic progress of young people
