Job Description

Twenty4seven Education are currently seeking an experienced SENCO for a Coventry based Secondary school. This job is offered on an interim basis to start from September 2021 covering a period of maternity leave. If you are an experienced SENCO who has worked within a Secondary setting and are either local to or available to travel to the Coventry area, we would like to hear from you.

We are currently supporting an Ofsted good Secondary school in recruiting an experienced SENCO whilst their current member of staff takes a period of maternity leave. Due to start from September 2021, the role is offered as a long-term, interim post for a minimum of two terms. There is the possibility that it may extend until the end of next academic year. The headteacher is open to receiving applications from either a Secondary experienced SENCO or a SENCO who has worked within the SEN sector who would like to transition into a primary school. Ideally you would hold the national SENCO qualification however candidates with recent, substantial experience will also be considered.

The Headteacher has a wealth of experience gained from working for a substantial length of time within the setting. They are fully supported by a stable, long standing leadership team. Morale at the school is high and they pride themselves on providing a family culture which is inclusive of all staff members.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

• Hold the national SENCO qualification or
• Substantial experience as an acting SENCO (without acquiring the qualification)
• Ideally have knowledge of Coventry, West Midlands LA procedures
• Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils with SEND
• Secondary or SEN school experience in a similar SENCO role

Due to Covid-19 a flexible interview process is in place for this role. A video meeting with a school representative will be arranged for applicants as a first stage interview and a socially distanced tour of the setting can be arranged.
