This ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Primary School is a warm and friendly school at the very heart of its local community in Dudley. It is a two form entry school with a Time for Twos unit offering part time pre-school places. They have a very large and well-resourced site that offers pupils an exceptional environment in which to learn. This includes a Forest School area, an Eco Zone and a Nurture Unit. Their Early Years offers them a wide variety of experiences and opportunities for children to express themselves and learn. Pupils’ personal, social and emotional development is key and their dedicated team of EYFS staff ensure pupils’ needs are met every day. Child Initiated Learning is a fundamental part of their EYFS practice and pupils quickly develop into confident and independent learners.
The Role:
The School is looking to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to join their passionate and enthusiastic team, to support pupils in the Time for Twos Unit. This exciting new role is to start after Easter until July however, for the right candidate this has the potential to become a permanent contract. It is vital that the care and education two year old children receive is of the highest quality. You will need to assist and work under the direction of the class teacher, support and aid the learning of pupils through clarifying and explaining instructions, make sure equipment and materials are used correctly and provide continuous encouragement and motivation ensuring pupils are safe at all time.
This role may include the opportunity to work as a general Teaching Assistant within the unit or to provide group or one-to-one support with identified pupils. You will need to form positive relationships with children. Encouraging them to flourish and learn, help them to become more independent, resilient and guide them on the path to become competent and confident learners.
The ideal candidate:
** Be enthusiastic, nurturing and dedicated
** Be passionate about helping young children to reach their goals
** Have the ability to form positive professional relationships with young children and staff
** Have high expectations for the behaviour and academic progress of young children
** Experience of working in an Early Years Setting including Time for Twos and/or Nursery
** Good knowledge of the Early Years Curriculum and assessment
** A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous but not essential
** Right to work in the UK
** Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to obtain a new certificate
** Safeguarding training within the last 12 months (if you haven’t we provide a free course once you’ve undergone our relevant compliance checks)
