1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD)

Twenty 4 Seven Education is delighted to be working alongside a welcoming and successful primary school in a residential area near Cardiff. They are looking for a one-to-one teaching assistant to work in a reception class with a student with Autism spectrum Disorder assisting them within the classroom.

The school
The school is part of a tight-knit community and works within this community to provide an enjoyable and stimulating learning environment. They work hard to encourage their pupils to develop academically socially and personally and work to provide an environment where they can do this confidently. They are looking for a caring and passionate individual to become part of this community and support a pupil with ASD by working one-to-one and assisting them in accessing the curriculum.

The role
The successful candidate will be given a fixed-term contract starting in September and continuing through to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of this becoming permanent. They will be working term-time from 8:30 to 15:30 on weekdays.

As a one-to-one TA you will:
Work one-to-one with a pupil with ASD
Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum
Assist the pupil in making progress academically, socially, and personally
Get to know the pupil and learn how to support them further
Plan and put into action learning activities with the teacher
Support the classroom teacher

The successful candidate:
Will be patient, enthusiastic, and approachable
Will have an understanding of how to support children with ASD
Will have experience working within an educational setting
Will have a good command of the English language
Experience working in a similar role is desirable but not essential. Teaching Assistant qualifications are also desirable but not required.
