1:1 SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant (ASD) 

**Location: Cardiff 

**September Start 

**Fulltime 

**Must have 3 months of relevant experience or relevant qualifications

Twenty4Seven Education is thrilled to be working alongside this Large English Medium secondary school located in the North of Cardiff. They are looking for a passionate and experienced teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with ASD. The candidate will with the pupil throughout their school day assisting them in lessons and ensuring they are supported and helping them to adapt to school life.

The School

The school works alongside its pupils to create a curriculum that is engaging to them and that they can take pride in, understanding that each pupil comes with their own set of skills and strengths and works to develop and engage these to prepare them for their future. They are looking for a teaching assistant who will bring a passion for learning and who will be a supportive and enthusiastic presence for the pupil.

The Role 

The successful candidate will begin working in September and will continue until the end of the academic year. They will be working Term time Monday to Friday from 8:30-15:30. They will be working one-to-one with a pupil with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who requires extra support during the school day.

As a teaching assistant you will:

Work 1:1 with a pupil with ASD
Supporting pupil in their everyday school life
Assisting the pupil in accessing the curriculum
Get to know the pupils and learn how to support them academically, socially, and personally
Discuss and put into action strategies to support the pupils with the staff
Assist pupils in making progress not only academically but also socially and personally

 

The successful candidate:

Will be enthusiastic, dedicated, and caring
Will have experience working within an educational setting
Will have an understanding of how to support children with additional learning needs
Will have a good command of the English language
Will have a minimum of 3 months of relevant experience
Will be able to implement and adapt learning activities discussed with the teacher
Additional qualifications are desirable but not essential.
