Job Description

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) 

**Location: Cardiff

**ASAP Start 

**Full time 

**3 Months of relevant experience required 

Twenty4Seven education is looking for a passionate and experienced SEN teaching assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a pupil with Autism spectrum disorder. They will be working in a welcoming and friendly primary school in a residential area of Cardiff supporting the pupil throughout their everyday school life and assisting them in their academic and personal development.

The School

The school is dedicated to developing the inquisitive minds of their pupils and works to create a stimulating and enjoyable environment. They encourage children to problem solve and develop their creative and imaginative personalities and encourage their staff to develop themselves alongside the pupils to create a constantly evolving and improving learning environment. Striving to challenge and support children in a happy, safe and caring environment. Their dedicated team of staff is looking for someone who will work to the best of their ability to continue this supportive and stimulating environment and provide care for the pupils.

The Role

The successful candidate will begin working as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year with the possibility of this being extended. They will be working Monday to Friday during term times from 8:30-15:30. The successful candidate will be working on a one-to-one basis with a pupil with ASD supporting them throughout their school life and helping them develop academically, personally and socially.

The key responsibilities will include:

Assisting the pupil with accessing the curriculum
Assisting the pupil with developing academically, socially, and personally
Support the classroom teacher in learning activities and classroom management
Assist in preparing and completing learning activities
Support the pupil on a one-to-one basis and discuss with both the student and teacher ways to further support the pupils.

 

The successful candidate:

Will be kind, dedicated, and passionate
Will have a minimum of 3 months of experience working within an educational setting
Will have experience working with children with SEN
Will have a good command of the English language
Teaching Assistant qualifications are also desirable but not required.
