1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD)

Twenty4Seven Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated teaching assistant with experience in Special educational needs to work in this inviting and modern primary school located in a residential area of Cardiff. They are looking for a teaching assistant to work one-to-one with a pupil with Autism spectrum disorder in their year 2 class.

The School

The school works in partnership with its community to provide a rich and in-depth curriculum that they can be proud of. They work to engage and encourage students as they develop and grow. Throughout the academic year, they strive to develop pupils’ confidence and skills. Understanding each individual student and working with the students to support them in the best way possible. They are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will be dedicated to supporting students and will be a positive addition to the school.

The Role

The successful candidate will begin working in September and continue to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of this becoming permanent. They will be working weekdays during term time from 8:30 to 15:30. They will work as a one-to-one Teaching Assistant supporting a pupil in the year 2 class who has autism spectrum disorder and occasionally taking small groups of pupils to complete learning activities set by the classroom teacher.

As a one-to-one SEN TA you will:

Work one-to-one with a pupil with Special Educational Needs
Assist pupil in accessing the curriculum
Assist pupil in making progress academically, socially, and personally
Get to know the pupil and learn how to support them further in the best way possible
Support the classroom teacher and work with small groups of pupils

The successful candidate:

Will be patient, enthusiastic, and approachable
Will have experience working within an educational setting
Will have an understanding of how to support children with SEN
Will have a good command of the English language
