Job Description

Twenty4Seven Education are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support students with complex behaviour across all school ages. This includes working on a 1:1 basis with a variety of children to manage behaviours and support their learning. You will be working alongside class teachers, support staff and school SENCOs to deliver engaging, practical sessions for a small group of students.

Duties include:

  • Supporting students who have a statement of Special Educational Needs: cognition and learning emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Assisting the class teacher and other staff in carrying out an appropriate planned programme of work to meet the needs of the particular children enabling them to reach full potential.
  • Assisting the child’s integration into the rest of the class/group.
  • Encouraging and supporting the learning process of the child both on a one-to-one basis and within a group.
  • Assisting in the monitoring of the child’s performance and to report progress.
  • Providing feedback to enhance the child’s self-esteem and to encourage acceptable behaviour.
  • Providing alternative differentiated tasks for statemented students when appropriate.
  • Helping the child to focus their attention and keep on the task.
  • Using techniques of reward and time out as part of a behavioural programme.
  • Liaising with parents and carers where appropriate
  • Supporting and implement school behaviour policy.
  • Undertaking such other duties related to the school and appropriate to the school.

 

We hire for full time, part time, short and long term roles. Some of these roles can be flexibly worked around university or other commitments if required.
