Early years Teaching Assistant

**Location: Newport
**September Start, till the end of the academic year
**Full-time, fixed term

Twenty4Seven Education is thrilled to be working alongside this inviting and modern primary school located in a residential area in Newport. They are looking for a confident and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to work alongside the classroom teacher supporting the pupils throughout their school day and encouraging them to develop academically, socially, and personally.

They offer a spectrum of stimulating and rich learning activities that promote the development of pupils academically socially and personally. They provide a safe, happy and caring environment and want a Teaching assistant who will work to continue this and be dedicated to the development of the pupils individually and as a group.

The Role

The successful candidate will begin working in September and will continue until the end of the academic year with the possibility of this becoming permanent. They will work term time on weekdays from 8:30 to 15:30.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum
Assist the pupils in developing academically, socially, and personally
Lead learning activities within small groups
Work one-to-one with pupils to support their learning development
Support the classroom teacher in class management
Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities with the classroom teacher
Discuss with the pupils and teacher how best to support the pupil’s development


The successful candidate:

Will have good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Will have previous experience working within an educational setting
Will have a basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
