Twenty 4 Seven Education is delighted to be working alongside this friendly and inviting primary school located in a residential area in Newport. They are looking for an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to work alongside their Early year’s pupils with Special Educational Needs.

They are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will support and encourage the pupils to develop and reach their full potential.

The Role

The successful candidate will begin working in September, working term-time from 8:30 to 15:30 on weekdays. The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with a pupil in early years with SEN and supporting the teacher within the classroom.

As a one-to-one SEN TA you will:

  • Work one-to-one with a pupil with SEN
  • Assist the pupils in accessing the curriculum
  • Assist the pupils in making progress not only academically but also socially and personally
  • Assisting with meal times and playtimes
  • Use communication-friendly strategies such as visual timetables and PECS
  • Get to know the pupil and learn how to support them further in the best way possible
  • Provide feedback to pupils to assist their development under the guidance of the teacher
  • Discuss and put into action strategies to support the pupil with the teacher

The successful candidate:

  • Will be caring, passionate, and enthusiastic
  • Will have experience working in a similar role with SEN
  • Will have a minimum of 3 months of experience working within educational settings
  • Will have a good command of the English language
  • Will have experience implementing and adapting learning activities
  • Teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
