Teaching Assistant in KS2 (Interventions) to start in September 2022

A primary school in Newport is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to start in September 2022 The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant with Intervention experience. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic primary school with a great community presence. It is a lovely, supportive school, providing state of the art facilities, with onsite parking.

The role

You will be working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups running intervention sessions for pupils for literacy and numeracy and you will need to demonstrate your experience of this.
You will plan and deliver the interventions, for phonics and numeracy groups and take responsibility for identifying any pupils that need additional support.
As part of your role, you will communicate with the class teacher and record these sessions to ensure pupils’ progression.

What you’ll need to succeed

You should have experience within a classroom setting in the last few years.
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is preferred but not required
You will need strong communication skills
