Learning Support Assistant

**Location: North Cardiff
**September Start

Twenty4Seven Education is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work within this amazing school located in a residential area north of Cardiff. They are looking for a teaching assistant to work within their reception class supporting students and assisting the classroom teacher.

The school is run by a dedicated team of staff who work together to create an enriching and stimulating curriculum that develops a passion for learning and prepares their students for the wider world. They are looking for a learning support assistant to work in their reception class and provide a positive and safe learning environment for each pupil.

The Role

The successful candidate will begin working in September and will continue to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of this becoming permanent. They will work term time on weekdays from 8:30 to 15:30 working in the reception class supporting the classroom teacher and assisting the pupils in their day-to-day school life.

As a Teaching Assistant you will:

Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum
Assist the pupils in developing academically, socially, and personally
Lead learning activities within small groups
Work one-to-one with pupils to support their learning development
Support the classroom teacher in class management
Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities with the classroom teacher
Discuss with the pupils and teacher how best to support the pupils development


The successful candidate:

Will have good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Will have a minimum of 3 months of previous experience working within an educational setting
Will have a basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
