Job Description

Are you passionate about working with children with special educational needs?

Do you have experience providing one-to-one and group support to help children overcome barriers to learning?

If so, we would love to hear from you. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Cardiff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Providing one-to-one and group support to children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
Assisting with the planning and delivery of individualised education and care plans (IECPs)
Promoting independent learning and development in children
Encouraging and enabling children to participate in activities and access the curriculum
Monitoring and recording progress against targets and objectives
Communicating regularly with parents/carers and other professionals involved in the care and education of the children
Implementing the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to work effectively as part of a team
Have a caring and empathetic approach
Be adaptable and able to respond to the individual needs of children
Be committed to ongoing professional development
