Special Educational Need Teaching Assistant

**Location: Cardiff

**ASAP Start

**Fulltime 

**3 Months of relevant experience required

This Special Education school is looking for a passionate and caring teaching assistant to work between classes supporting classroom teachers and helping children who are struggling to access the curriculum. They are looking for someone who is willing to get involved and get to know pupils and know how to support them in the best way possible.

The school is part of a close-knit community and works alongside parents and carers providing an enriching and stimulating learning environment. They are looking for a caring and compassionate teaching assistant who will support pupils and support the classroom teacher to the best of their ability.

The Role 

The successful candidate will begin working as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year with the possibility of this becoming permanent. They will be working weekdays during term time from 8:30-15:30. They will work alongside the classroom teacher to provide enriching learning experiences for all pupils.

The key responsibilities will include:

Assisting the pupils with accessing the curriculum
Assisting the pupils with developing academically, socially, and personally
Support the classroom teacher in learning activities and classroom management
Assist in preparing and completing learning activities
Support the pupil on a one-to-one basis and discuss with both the student and teacher ways to further support the pupils.

 

The successful candidate:

Will be kind, dedicated, and passionate
Will have a minimum of 3 months of experience working within an educational setting
Will have experience working with children with SEN
Will have a good command of the English language
Teaching Assistant qualifications are also desirable but not required.
