Teaching Assistant

**Location: Newport
**September Start until the end of the academic year
**Full-time Fixed term

Twenty4Seven Education is thrilled to be working alongside this delightful primary school located in a residential area of Newport. They are looking for a teaching assistant to work within their year 5 Class supporting the classroom teacher and working to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to encourage the academic and personal development of the children.

The school

As the pupils develop the school works to provide them with an array of rich and diverse learning experiences and activities making school fun and welcoming. They are looking for a joyful Teaching Assistant who will work within their Year 5 class and become a supportive and joyful presence within the classroom and school.

The Role

The successful candidate will begin working in September and will continue to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of this becoming permanent. They will be working as a general Teaching Assistant in the year 5 class supporting the classroom teacher as well as occasionally taking small groups of pupils to complete set learning activities.

As a Teaching Assistant you will:

Support the classroom teacher in preparing and teaching educational activities
Work in small groups leading activities set by the teacher
Get to know the pupils in the class and learn how to support them academically, socially, and personally
Discuss and put into action strategies to support the pupils with the teacher
Assist the pupils in accessing the curriculum
Assist the pupils in developing academically, socially, and personally
Lead learning activities within small groups


The successful candidate:

Will have good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Will have previous experience working within an educational setting
Will have a basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
