Teaching Assistant – Newport

We at Twenty4Seven Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide support to a Reception class at a hard working and confident Primary School in the Newport area. This new role is a full-time temporary position covering 5 days per week, from 08:30-15:30. This role is starting after Easter 2022 until Summer 2022 with prospects of a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The school aims to meet pupils’ individual needs by considering their social, emotional and physical needs by ensuring all pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum.

The candidate must have a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) as well as experience working with children in a classroom setting.

Within this role, your main responsibilities will be:

• Monitoring targets for future progress

• Establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and carers

• Having a clear understanding of all the needs of all pupils

• Monitoring pupils progress in reference with the school’s practice

• Managing behaviour alongside the class teacher

You must have a current DBS attached to the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS through T4S Education.

All staff working in schools as Teaching Assistants must hold registration with the Education Workforce Council under the category of “School Learning Support Staff”
