Children’s Support Worker – School Based
Residential Special School
Broadstairs
Full Time

**NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**

A popular and thriving residential special school requires an experienced support worker to join their hardworking and dedicated team, full time. The job involves supporting pupils on an individual/group basis to develop their skills – including problem solving, understanding and being aware of other’s emotions and feelings, addressing barriers to learning and raising aspirations. You will support and implement the school’s positive behaviour policy, liaise with colleagues, parents/carers and other agencies to enable children to overcome barriers to learning.

Using your experience of working with children and young people with Additional Educational Needs and Challenging Behaviour, you will work alongside colleagues to support a group of students in a classroom setting. Awareness of the needs of, and experience of working with children and young people with Learning Difficulties, Autism and Challenging Behaviour will be a distinct advantage.

We are seeking people who are mature, warm, creative and open to learning with a patient and caring attitude to deal sensitively with vulnerable children. The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate and understanding, flexible in their approach, have good behaviour management skills and have a good sense of humour. The successful applicant will need to have high standards of work ethic in terms of motivation, personal presentation, punctuality, professional standards and team work.
