KS2 Teacher

Location: Chatham
Full time, permanent
£27,186- £42,192 with TLR available
September start

We are delighted to be working alongside a primary school which is part of a successful trust of 18 schools. We are looking for an experienced teacher to work in KS2. The right candidate could also have the opportunity to take on the role of phase leader, depending on experience.

The School

This modern and friendly primary school opened less than a decade ago and has been rated “good” by OFSTED. It welcomes over six hundred pupils with three forms per year group. Its up-to-date setting and facilities make it easier to teach a varied and creative curriculum. Among the school’s aims are high aspirations, making learning irresistible to children and creating a nurturing environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will teach a KS2 class, playing a crucial part in the acquisition of students’ skills including numeracy, literacy, computing and thinking skills, as well as being part of the further development of the whole school, helping to make learning irresistible and to provide a nurturing and safe environment for everyone.

You will be expected to:

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons to a KS2 class, in line with the school’s curriculum
  • Be aware of effective and up-to-date pedagogical strategies
  • Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
  • Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and prior knowledge, and plan differentiated teaching appropriately to build on these
  • Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs, gifted and talented, EAL, disabilities, and adapt teaching accordingly
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on pupils’ progress and achievements
  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Establish a safe and nurturing environment for pupils, promoting a love of learning

  • Has good or outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
  • Is able to plan and deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum
  • Has high expectations for themself and the children to ensure that all everyone achieves their very best
  • Is happy to undertake exciting CPD opportunities
  • Will contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools

A TLR £2,804 is available for a candidate with the experience to lead a team.
