KS2 Teaching Assistant – Bromsgrove – ASAP

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, caring and reliable Teaching Assistant to support KS2 pupils, at a SEN School in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. This amazing new full time role is to start ASAP until the end of the academic year.

 

The School:

 

This ‘Good’ Ofsted rated SEN School is a Co-educational School for pupils aged 4-19 years. Pupils have either moderate, severe or complex learning needs. The school admits pupils who are working below age expected skills and knowledge that the National Curriculum prescribes. Pupils have a range of educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Global Developmental Delay, as well as delayed social and communication skills. All pupils will have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), or will be undertaking assessment for an EHCP, as negotiated with the Local Authority through the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities team (SEND).

 

Their purpose is to provide a safe, positive, stimulating and challenging learning environment where all pupils’ needs are identified and met and where progress, achievements and success are recognised and celebrated.

 

The Role:

 

The School is looking to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to join their passionate and enthusiastic team, to support pupils in years three, four, five and six.

 

The successful candidate will have the ability to assist and work under the direction of the class teacher. They will be able to support and aid the learning of pupils through clarifying and explaining instructions, ensuring the use of equipment and materials and to provide continuous encouragement and motivation.

 

This role may include the opportunity to work as a general Teaching Assistant within the classroom setting or to provide group or one-to-one support with identified pupils.

 

The ideal candidate:

 

** Teaching assistant Level 2 or 3 qualification is advantageous but not essential

 

** Has experience as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream Primary School or SEN setting is a must for this role

 

** Has experience supporting pupils with SEN

 

** Be passionate and dynamic about children’s learning

 

** Be enthusiastic about helping young people to succeed

 

** Have the ability to form strong professional relationships with young people and staff

 

** Have high expectations for the behaviour and academic progress of young people
