Position Overview: As a Phonics Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in helping students develop strong reading and writing skills through the effective teaching of phonics. You will work closely with a dedicated teaching staff to provide targeted support to students, ensuring they gain confidence in phonics and literacy. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and experience will be invaluable in fostering a love of reading and writing in our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of phonics lessons.
  • Work with small groups or individual students to provide tailored phonics instruction.
  • Assess students’ phonics skills and track their progress.
  • Create engaging and interactive phonics activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt phonics materials.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide feedback and support to students to help them overcome phonics challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Phonics Teaching Assistant or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of phonics principles and teaching methods.
  • A passion for working with children and helping them develop literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field (preferred but not required).
