School Support Worker Birmingham ASAP

Twenty4Seven Education is actively seeking school support workers and teaching assistants in the Birmingham area.

Our clients are schools that require workers who are passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated to supporting children and young adults with additional needs such as learning difficulties, autism conditions and speech, language and communication difficulties.

Applicants must be willing to work with children and young adults with SLD and ASC needs and have relevant or previous experience working with SEN children or adults. This role is a full-time role with the chance of a permanent job for the right candidate.

Must have:

Experience with SEN children and young adults
Calm, caring, considerate, compassionate and most of all, have patience.
Understanding issues like challenging behaviour, and safeguarding
willing to have a child and adult DBS check
Understanding relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of all current legislation.
Team Teach is desirable but not a must
Communication and language experience is desirable but not a must
Personal care
Typical duties of a school support worker:

Must have:

Experience with SEND children and young adults
A calm, caring, considerate, compassionate manner, being most of all patient.
An understanding of challenging behaviour and safeguarding
Child and adult DBS check on update service or willing to complete new one
Excellent knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of current legislation
Team Teach is desirable but not a must
Communication and language experience is desirable but not a must
Experience working with special needs
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or willing to complete an online qualification
Typical duties of a SEND Teaching Assistant:

Attend to the pupils’ personal needs and suggest or implement related programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access to learning
Assist with implementing and developing Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Provide feedback to pupils concerning progress and achievement under the guidance of a teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievements, progress and problems.
