Twenty4seven Education are seeking a confident and experienced candidate to work on a 1-1 basis with a year 5 pupil. For this role you will need to have a strong knowledge of working with children with additional needs. The pupil will have their own timetable that you will need to ensure they follow.
Planning work for the pupil is essential and you’ll be working with the class teacher and SENco to ensure the pupil it working at the right level.
SEN experience is essential for this role.
Typical duties of a (1:1) Teaching Assistant:
Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Assisting the class teacher with setting up and delivering
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
Desirable skills –
A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher
