SEN Teacher, Kidderminster
Full Time 

We are recruiting an SEN Teacher on a full time basis to teach and support a small group of students with EHCP’s. You will be working within the nurture group of a mainstream primary school, providing specialist and tailored lessons to suit the needs of each child, whether it be on a 1:1 or small group basis. The children are in Year 5 and working at E3 – E4 Level.

The nurture group, The Hive, is a small class of up to 6 children and is a continuation of the inclusive, nurturing ethos across school. It is a place of learning and enables pupils to access a highly personalised curriculum whilst remaining in a supportive, structured environment.

The Hive follows a set timetable with clear boundaries so the children feel safe and secure. This enables pupils to improve their emotional well-being, self-esteem and sense of belonging to the school. It is based upon the Six Principles of Nurture:

  • Children’s learning is understood developmentally
  • The classroom offers a safe base
  • The importance of nurture for the development of well-being
  • Language is a vital means of communication
  • All behaviour is communication
  • The importance of transition in children’s lives

This is a completely new role within the school working with vulnerable children so it is imperative we find the right person who has experience teaching or supporting students with learning difficulties such as ASD and ADHD. Individuals with personal experience may be considered however, you must be a qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
