Twenty 4 Seven Education are working with a school in the Tipton area. The role is working in a Focus Provision Unit with around 14 students. This is a full time role, working five days per week during term time.
The School
This school in Tipton has a focus provision unit on site where they have 14 students from the age of 5 to 11. These students have mixed needs from mild to complex, including difficult behaviour.
The Role
The school is looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to start this role immediately. They are looking for someone who has experience and is confident using Makaton and TEACH. They also need someone who has positive handling experience.
The main responsibilities will include
· Working 1:1 with SEN pupils
· Supporting the class teacher
· Helping SEND pupil to make progress in and out of the classroom
· Liaising with school’s SENCO
· Working in line with the school’s ethos and SEND policies
The candidate:
A teaching assistant qualification is desirable, preferably with specific SEND knowledge
Must have a desire to make a positive contribution in class
Must have a desire to make a difference to the progress- academic, social and/or personal- of pupils with SEN
Need a successful track record of working with pupils
Classroom-based experience is useful
