Job Description

We are currently recruiting a general Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming school in Cardiff. In this job role you will be required to work Monday-Friday in a Nursery. The working hours will be from 08:30pm -3:30pm. This is a friendly school who will be committed to supporting your professional develop.

Typical duties of a teaching Assistant:

Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes

Supervise and support pupils in access of learning

Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.

Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.

Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.

Desirable skills –

A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)

Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English

Previous experience of working with young people

Basic understanding of child development and learning

Ability to use basic technology

Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

The school is looking to appoint the right candidate into the school on September 5th. This job role is a temporary position. However, in some cases a permanent contract can arise at a later date.
