Job Description

Twenty4Seven are seeking strong and reliable candidates to work in primary schools in Sandwell. We have a number of roles, part and full time that we are looking to fill. Some of these roles are working as a 1-1 with children with additional needs. A successful candidate must hold at least a level 2 qualification in a relevant subject. Candidates will need to have had a minimum of 3 months working in schools and experience working with additional needs (for SEN roles only).

Typical duties of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
Desirable skills –

A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher
These schools are all looking for people to start in January. All roles are temporary for now but do have the potential to be permanent for the right person.
