Safeguarding in Schools

SAFEGUARDING COMES FIRST

Ensuring the safety of the children you’d be working with is, of course, imperative and as such, we will always make sure that safeguarding checks are completed before any assignment commences.

We follow the requirements of the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation). If you would like any further details on any of our procedures, please contact a member of the team. 

ID Verification

We verify documents required to complete identity checks.

Right to Work Checks

All candidates have a confirmed Right to Work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS Checks

All candidates have an Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child/Child & Adult Workforce) to ensure they are safe to work with children and/or young people.

Reference Checks

All candidates will have at least two references covering at least a two-year period.

Safeguarding Children Certificate

All candidates are given access to a free online Safeguarding Children course, which includes information on the Keeping Children Safe in Education - Part 1 (2025) statutory guidance

Supporting Schools with Safeguarding

We understand that safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of all children is everyone’s responsibility and everyone has a role to play in protecting children. We recognise that our agency is part of a wider safeguarding system for children and work closely with schools to promote the welfare of children.

Vetting reports

T4S will always provide written confirmation of the vetting checks we undertake on all our candidates. Candidates who are registered and are working for T4S have their compliance continually updated.

Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) – Part 1 (September 2025)

As part of the safer recruitment process all candidates read and understand the importance of KCSIE – Part 1 (September 2025). Employees at T4S are also aware of the KCSIE (2025) statutory guidance.

Consultants are aware of schools’ nominated Designated Safeguarding Leads, individual schools’ safeguarding policies and procedures

Our Education Support service provides free CPD training for candidates on safeguarding children and how to create a safe learning environment
