Twenty4Seven Education are looking to recruit a strong SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1-1 basis. This role is working Monday to Friday, mornings only. The pupil you will be working with is in year 6 but is working at a KS1 level. They have their own curriculum which must be followed.
You will be expected to work with this child in and out of the classroom with support from the SENCO and class teacher.
This role is ongoing and will be starting in January.
Typical duties of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.
Desirable skills –
A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE Maths and English
Previous experience of working with young people
Basic understanding of child development and learning
Ability to use basic technology
Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher
These schools are all looking for people to start immediately. All roles are temporary for now but do have the potential to be permanent for the right person.
