Business Studies Teacher– Coventry – ASAP

Twenty 4 Seven Education have an exciting opportunity for an inspirational, dedicated and qualified Business Studies Teacher to teach at a Secondary School in Coventry. This full time role is to start after May half term until the end of the academic year (July).

The School:
This ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Secondary School aims to foster curiosity in the modern world through the awe and wonder of their varied and ever evolving subjects.  They recognise the uniqueness of every child, children here are encouraged to respect themselves, the school community and the wider world. They aim to develop the whole child – spiritually, morally, socially, physically and academically so they become positive citizens of the future.

The Business Studies Department offers courses to suit students of all abilities and interests. They have a dedicated conference room and ICT suite with student learning at the heart of everything they do. Lessons involve a mixture of written, verbal, creative, research and computer-based activities. Students learn about enterprise, ethics, morals, e-safety and the need to keep young people safe online.

In Year 10, students can opt to study the Edexcel GCSE in Business Studies. This course is designed to support progression to A Level Business or Economics. Subject content includes enterprise and starting a business, economics (demand, supply, interest and exchange rates) and business and IT communication. Some students can also opt to study BTEC Level 2 Travel and Tourism (equivalent to one GCSE).

In the sixth form, students can choose to study the new AQA A-level Business. This covers management, leadership and decision making, marketing, operational performance, finance, HR and business strategies.

Your new role:
You will need to plan and deliver high quality Business Studies lessons that equip students with the powerful business knowledge and the appropriate skills needed to develop their employability and identify business problems and opportunities. Students will need to  understand underlying Business theory which they can then apply to a variety of familiar and unfamiliar case studies. Students need to be able to think analytically, reach logical conclusions based on data, and make judgements on future changes to markets and the economy, and also understand how bigger business issues impact on their daily lives.

The ideal candidate:
* Hold a UK recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QLTS)
* Have good Business Studies subject knowledge and experience of teaching at GCSE and A Level
* Be able to plan and deliver engaging lessons
* Monitor and assess pupils effectively to ensure pupil progress
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong classroom and behaviour management
*A valid enhanced DBS check on the update service (or be willing to process one with us)
