Early Years Teaching Assistant – Worcestershire – September

Location: Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Droitwich, Worcester, Great Malvern, Evesham and surrounding areas
Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm
Salary: £65-£75

In preparation for the new academic year starting September and to fulfil the demand for daily and short/long term cover, we are now actively seeking enthusiastic, caring, reliable and helpful Teaching Assistants for Primary Schools in Worcestershire. You will be supporting pupils in the Early Years working in Nursery and/or Reception.

Teaching Assistant duties:
* You will support children during child initiated learning and adult led activities, this may include conducting observations to evidence progress in their learning and development
* You will provide detailed and regular feedback to pupils concerning their learning, achievement and behaviour under the guidance of the class teacher
* You will communicate effectively with the class teacher with regards to the pupils’ engagement, progress, development, behaviour and any issues that arise in class or around school
* You will need to attend to the children’s needs this may include personal care
* You will need to complete relevant administration tasks

The ideal candidate will:
* Be creative, energetic, approachable and patient
* Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree around childcare is admirable but not essential
* Have a secure knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and assessment
* Have a strong understanding of Phonics
* Have a good understanding of child development and the importance of learning through play
* Demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills – both verbal and written
* Showcase good initiative
* Effectively manage children’s behaviour by using positive strategies
* Have the ability to form positive professional relationships with young children and staff
* Be willing to do personal care

Teaching Assistant requirements:
* Minimum of 3 months experience of working with children in an educational or similar setting – particularly children aged 0-5 including those identified with special educational needs and difficulties
* Professional reference checks to cover the last 2 years
* Legal right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to pay and apply for a new certificate
* Excellent knowledge of safeguarding children and young adults – you will need an up to date Safeguarding Training Certificate (we provide FREE Safeguarding Training)
