Learning Support Assistant – Rugby – September

* Start date: September 2022
* Contract: Term time only plus Inset days until 25th July 2023
* Hours: Monday to Friday 8.50am to 3.05pm
* Salary: £11,709 (Scale D 3-4)

A Secondary School in Rugby are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant (Level 1) to join their Learning Support Department. They are looking for a passionate, dedicated and motivated individual who is committed to ensuring that all students make progress. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference to the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs.

The School:
This ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Secondary School is an ethnically mixed 11-18 comprehensive with approximately 1070 students on role. Their aim is to put students at the heart of everything. They want them to develop the confidence, skills and qualifications to ensure that they are happy and successful. They are determined to raise achievement further at GCSE and A Level, developing their learning and teaching skills and lastly, enhance the range of memorable experiences available to their students.

Your new role:
You will support the School, Senior Leadership team and SENCO by assisting teaching staff in the development and education process of students. In addition, assist teaching staff with students’ care, support and supervision. The role will involve supporting teachers in providing targeted support, including one to one and small group intervention.

The ideal candidate:
** Experience of working with children and/or young people in the last 5 years, including those identified with having Special Educational Needs
** Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree around childcare is admirable but not essential
** Confident to work across the Secondary age range, demonstrating high expectations of pupil’s achievement
** Good communication and organisation skills
** Possess good behaviour management skills
** Right to work in the UK
** Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. Candidates without an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service will have to apply for a new one
