SEMH Learning Coach – Kidderminster– ASAP

An inclusive and nurturing Special Needs School in Kidderminster is seeking a full time confident, resilient, flexible and enthusiastic SEMH Learning Coach to start ASAP on an ongoing basis.

The successful candidate will be required to help implement a range of support strategies,  supporting pupils on a group or 1:1 basis in the classroom. All pupils have been identified with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), the majority of pupils have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The School:
This ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated Alternative Provision Free School educates pupils aged 11-17, with a broad range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). Main duties:
* You will provide levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs, encouraging the
pupils to stay on task
* You will monitor the pupils’ response to the learning activities and, where appropriate, modify or adapt the activities as agreed with the
class teacher to achieve the intended learning outcomes
* You will assist in the recording of lessons and assessment as required by the class teacher

Requirements:
* Have a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification eg. CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Support Teaching and Learning or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to obtain a new certificate
